A Bit of History

Andy was raised in Hickory, NC in a family full of musicians and educators. He grew up experiencing a philosophy where people are the product of their environment, nurtured by creativity, love, and music. There was always teaching, learning, music, and creativity wherever he turned.

Andy began playing cello at the age of 3, and teaching others at the age of 14, utilizing the philosophy of Dr Shinichi Suzuki. He believes that music and a person’s environment are an integral part of a healthy mind, body, and soul. Andy has also begun playing drums in the last few years,.

Upon graduating from Appalachian State University in 2007, he moved to the triangle to be with his wife where they have made Hillsborough their home. It was then that Andy began a five year career in law enforcement. For 3.5 of these years he served as the School Resource Officer at a local middle school, working to enhance the community by educating, counseling, mentoring, and protecting our youth. Andy transitioned from law enforcement to massage therapy in 2013.

Andy has extremely varied hobbies and interests. He loves listening and experiencing a wide variety of music, spending time with family (people, fur, and feathers galore!), drumming, gardening, spending time outdoors, cooking, and countless crazy projects!
