So, I had hoped to make a blog post about once a month, maybe more…It’s been about 3 months. I will try to get on top of this!

I had an incredible new experience. May 9th I left home for the inaugural Epicenter Music Festival in Rockingham, NC. I had an absolute blast! This was my first major festival. I’d previously attended a single day at Shaky Knees festival, in Atlanta ( also a blast!).

Thursday afternoon, I got to the venue and set up my campsite. There were a lot of learning moments with this. I spent a couple of hours tweaking and re-configuring my campsite, as my original plans, didn’t match how the campsite was laid out. I set everything up to sleep in my car, under a canopy, to avoid excess heat from daytime sun, baking my car, and to avoid the inevitable rain (every time I camp).

After setting up camp, I met my neighbors and settled in, until I realized things were an hour earlier than I’d thought.

I missed the opening act- Killakoi from Charlotte, NC, a show I’d been looking forward to. I found a spot close at the front rail to watch the Hellzapoppin circus act. There was fire breathing, swallowing of sharp objects, and many various acts of pain endurance. During this show, I went from feeling great and enjoying the show, to almost blacking out. Several days later after LOTs of scenarios and trouble shooting, I believe, being exactly where I was, the CO2 fog became too concentrated and I couldn’t get Oxygen. Kinda important.

So, I had to abandon my front row spot, skipped the 2 subsequent bands, showered, and called it a fairly early first night.

The next morning, I got my coffee brewed, cooked some eggs (straight from the coop on Friday) and got my stuff together for a nice long day.

Friday night (Saturday 3:30 AM) I headed back to the Campsite, showered and finally fell asleep by 445.
