As a child, I had the privilege of going to countless concerts, recitals, and shows. A majority of those performances were “classical” music or plays/musicals. I remember many evenings, falling asleep to the music of the Western Piedmont Symphony or Maestro John Ross, telling the stories behind the pieces. Many times, I would wake up to a cymbal crash or a volley of brass players bellowing into the auditorium. The evenings would end in thunderous applause, and me pretending I never fell asleep…

While everyone exited the back of the auditorium, my dad and brothers would head to the stage to help my Mother pack up her violin and chat with the other musicians and family friends. These various musical moments have shaped my life, more than I ever understood.

I have been to a large number of shows, watching all types of musicians, of the highest caliber. Music is an essential part of my life. While I still love “classical” music, and seeing fantastic performances of it, as an adult, I have focused more on attending rock concerts and festivals.

Here are some of the spectacular shows I have been fortunate enough to experience, over the years.
